Anti-Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery Prohibition Policy
International Manpower Recruitment Pvt. Ltd. has a zero-tolerance approach to human trafficking and modern day anti-slavery both within the organization and within its supply chain. IMR is an ethical and fair recruitment organization and shall implement controls to safeguard against any form of human trafficking and slavery from taking place within the organization or in the supply chain. All suppliers shall be subjected to due diligence processes prior to being approved. IMR strictly prohibits its employees, overseas client and other stakeholders from engaging in human trafficking-related and slavery related activities. This includes transporting, recruiting, harboring, transferring or receiving persons for labor, criminal activities, removal of organs and sexual exploitation by means of threat, force, coercion, abduction or fraud. We shall adhere to Nepal Government foreign employment policy and standards and shall ensure workers supplied to the companies abroad are not victims of modern slavery or human trafficking.
IMR also prohibits employees, overseas client and other stakeholders from engaging in practices relating to trafficking in persons, including:
- Destroying or otherwise denying access to an employee’s identity or immigration documents
- Using misleading or fraudulent practices to recruit employees, such as failing to disclose key terms and conditions of employment
- Engaging in commercial sex acts that may be directly associated with IMR, which includes during work hours, while attending off-site functions, and during official travels
- Using forced labor of any kind for any reason
- Charging employee candidates recruitment fees for employment
- Using recruiters that do not comply with local labor laws
- Failing to provide return transportation to the recruited employees who are brought to a country for the purpose of working
- Providing housing that fails to meet host country standards
- Failing to provide proof of employment or similar work document in writing prior to the employee departing from his or her country of origin
Our policy and processes for the prevention of human trafficking and slavery shall be communicated to all employees and suppliers to ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery, and shall further form part of the company’s training and supporting materials
IMR will take appropriate disciplinary action for violations of these rules up to and including termination of the contract.
